Terms of use

Last updated: 28 October 2026.

What this is

Panna is a recipe app run by Jānis Seržants, a private individual, Latvia. By using it you agree to these terms.

Age and account

You have to be 13 or older. One account per person, through Google or Apple. You can delete it at any time, under You, then Delete account. We may close an account for breaking these terms, and will send you your content first if you ask.

Your content

The recipes, photos and notes you enter are yours. You give us only the permission the app needs: to store them, to re-encode photos, to show them to you, and, when you create a link, to show them to whoever has the link and to copy them into that person's account when they save the recipe. That copy is theirs to keep and change. We never use your content for anything else, never sell it, and never train anything on it.

Featured recipes

We wrote the featured recipes. Their photos come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licences; the authors are credited on the Photos page and in the app. A copy you save keeps the photo, and the photo keeps its licence.

Reading a recipe with AI

The app can read a recipe from text, a link or a picture you give it, with Mistral AI (France). It sends what you gave only when you ask it to read, and only once you have agreed in the app. There are a few reads a week, and reading may be unavailable, for example once the month's budget is spent; the app then gives you a prompt for your own AI instead.

An AI can be wrong. Check a recipe it read before you cook it, the amounts, temperatures and allergens above all. You are responsible for having the right to use what you send, and for what you paste back from your own AI.

What you may not do

Enter content that is not yours or infringes others' rights, unlawful or abusive content, or try to break the app, the server or other accounts.

Free, and as it is

The app is free. It may have bugs, change, or stop working, and there is no liability for that to the extent the law allows. If paid features ever appear, they will have terms of their own, which you accept separately.

Law

The laws of the Republic of Latvia. Disputes that talking does not settle go to a Latvian court. A consumer may also turn to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs).
